Rachmaninoff "24 Piano Prelude" Music Creation Characteristic Research

Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff,a famous Russian conductor,composer,pianist of the Romantic period,a successor of Romantic music.Based on traditional Music-making he enriches the music form,harmony,and piano technique,which bring both the romanticism and development of polyphony to their climax.Music-making is closely bound up with composer's environment and culture background.Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff draws heavily on Russian folk music,making his works full of Russian flavor and that is why we are saying that his music are deeply rooted in Russian folk music.The national style in Twenty-four Piano Preludes becomes the topic of studying in this paper.First,it is necessary to deep analyze his life experience and social-cultural background for knowing that how to build and structure the creative concept of Sergei Vasilyevich Rachmaninoff.Then follows the background and rhythm,harmony,mode of Twenty-four Piano Preludes.By analyzing the development of Russian folk music and impact it has on Music-making,this paper tries to expound how these elements are embodied in the composition.This paper attempts to explore the manifests of Russian music in Twenty-four Piano Preludes on development and impact on composures it has,and then analyze the playing style of this composition.Through the analysis of his music,we can exploit cultural connotation of his work and further our understanding of Russian cultural.
