In the western music history, the period from the ends of 19th century to the beginning of 20th century is the transition and the overlap time for the romanticism and the modernism music, and it is also the important time for Russian music to develop to its full scale. The impressionist school as well as other modern music schools gradually became the mainstream in music domain. The composer Rakhmanmov is consider as the last standard-bearer who persists the romanticism style. His work"24 Pianos Prelude" meticulously displays careful and intriguing thought line; appears tranquil, noble, profound tone and vigorous, intense, broad, grand imposing manner. He successfully excavated the characteristics of piano work to a height that seldom man can achieve. Thus, it is quite proper to say that he will be the person who contributes most to the development of piano art after Chopin and Liszt.This article will systematically analyze Rakhmanmov"24 Pianos Prelude" from the musicology angle. The paper consists of four chapters: chapter one analyzes the evolution of prelude, and Rakhmanmov's biography and his 24 prelude creation background; Chapter two focuses on the technical stratification from the aspect of body material style and the music expression means, thus may clearly shows the characteristic and the individual characteristic of Rakhmanmov. Chapter three probes on the prelude from the angles of esthetics, philosophy and other sides; Chapter four discusses the historical status and limitation of the"24 Pianos Prelude".
