Tchaikovsky is a great composer in the Russian romantic period of nineteenth centuries. His creation embraces all the music forms, and his most important music works are symphony, music in dance - drama, and opera. In his works of piano there is a famous piano suite the Seasons, which is the research object of this dissertation. We first make comments on the overall art characteristics of the Seasons, and then on the basis of analyzing the characteristic of the four representative piano pieces and their performance theory, we make a research on the teaching method of the Seasons. Thus this research is of theoretical and practical significance to the performance and the learning of the singing melody of various periods and various schools in teaching piano.This dissertation consists of three parts: introduction, body and conclusion. Introduction gives a brief introduction to Tchaikovsky's life and his music creation, and presents the motivations and significance of our research. The body contains three parts. The fist part describes the creation background of the Seasons and discusses its overall art characteristics. The second part respectively analyzes the art characteristics and the performance annotation of four works which take four seasons the spring, the summer, the autumn, and the winter as the representatives. The third part probes the teaching method of the Seasons from the angle of teaching piano. Conclusion summarizes the contents, the theoretical values and the significance.
