A Study On Folk Conception Of Propitious Dying Patterns And Modern Home Textile Appliance Design

Based on a study of folk conception of propitious dying patterns on a multicultural background and from the angle of family, the cultural connotation of propitious dying patterns are extended into the design of modern home textile appliance, in order to enrich the "modern home textile appliance culture" and pass down and develop the soul of folk propitious dying patterns. The theoretical and realistic significance of this study lies in the enrichment of designing theme, the satisfaction of aesthetic psychology and the protection of special dying culture and so on.Based on a survey of feasibility and necessity of the combination of folk conception of propitious dying patterns and modern home textile appliance design, this study aims to learn about the historical background and current development of folk propitious dying patterns and to understand its stylistic meanings, the regional characteristics and its Zeitgeist. The application of propitious dying patterns to modern home textile appliance design and its cultural inheritance are analyzed from four aspects, i.e. the sculpting reference of propitious dying patterns, the design of its color, the attempts of its expression by new crafts and its manifestation in new techniques and new materials.A further analysis of this topic is based on literatrue and on-spot review,conforming and inducing ideas and communicating with my tutor, from which the ability of detecting, analyzing and solving problems is cultivated and the methods of whole designing process are mastered, the understanding of traditional culture is enriced and the aesthetic horizons are broadened. Traditional propitious culture is combined with modern designing patterns and ideas in order to solve the problem of "how to get the folk propitious concept immersed in modern life through the media of home textile appliance design",and in order to make a breakthrough in "how to design multiculture-combining home textile appliance and its whole set interior decorations to meet people's multicultural and individual need", current and future design trends of home textile appliance are investigated. At teh same time, the strategies of promoting folk dying patterns into modern markets are explored.
