The Evolution Of Luxun's Image

The thesis has investigated the construction of Luxun's image in differentperiods of time and the change of the construction accompanying the change of national ideology. With different blueprints of Luxun's biographies in different periods, it has adopted the way of hermeneutics. As to the needs of proposition and the limitations of coverage, the thesis only studies the representative biographies together with their relative works. With the evolution of Luxun's image, it has also inspected the effects that the national ideology has on intellectuals' mental attitude.The research range covers the biographies from 1930s to 2000s, which has thoroughly described the historical changing process of Luxun's image with the hermeneutic approaches. Accordingly, the internal bases for the evolution are explored. And the exploration sifts and analyzes the mental change of the hermeneutic.The thesis consists of three chapters. Chapter one is from the birth of the first biography to the foundation of the People's Republic of China, mainly concerning with the portrait of A Real Luxun from his contemporaries viewpoints. Chapter two is from the foundation to the middle of 1980s, describing the parabola change of the image, that is, from a objective view in the new era to a deified view in the Great Cultural Revolution, then to a reflective view in the ten years after the deification. Chapter three is from the late of 1980s to the beginning of the new century, discussing the regression from the deification to an enlightener. It goes on and develops from the personified image construction to the stereo-explanation of the image in a pluralistic cultural background at the beginning of the new century.Many scholars pay attention to Luxun's biographies, however, the research that is from the aspect of the whole processing of Luxun's biography explanation, that explores the evolution of Luxun's image in the biographies combining social and historicalbackgrounds, still didn't form a monograph at present. The thesis sets off discussion from this proposition, trying to give impetus to the development of Luxun's research.
