| Initiating in France in 1960s, Western Narratology is propagated to America, Israel and other countries, then to China after 1980s. It entered Chinese literature field accompanied by acception of western new thoughts towards social science at that time. As a branch of Structuralism Theory, Western Narratology became a hot topic of culture exchange, which is introduced and propagated widely in China and practiced in literacy criticism and literacy innovation. A great deal of theory achievements in Narratology sprang up at that time. Therefore, it is very important and full of realistic significance to systematically summarize the propagation and evolution of the theory of Western Narratology in China, profoundly analyze the significance of transplantation of Chinese literacy innovation and literacy criticism in order to promote the development of Chinese literacy innovation, renew the aesthetic value and rebuild the criticism environment. It presents a supplementary and reference to the mature and further development of narrative theory in worldwide.The paper can be divided into four parts.1.The source of information: The development process of Western Narratology, including its conception, theoretic background and differentperiod in western countries.2.
