Studies On The Relation Between Causality And Fact

The issue of causality is one of the basic issues in philosophy. This thesis is based on the different concepts of fact, and to give emphasis to the inner relation between causality and fact, moreover, the causality itself had been discussed on the foundation of logic-philosophical analysis. Finally, I took several issues of the modern thoughts as the base point, and gave some reflection and criticism to the law of causation.As to the concept of fact, I defined it into four significations according to different philosophical interpretation, and the four is: Firstly, the world of fact is on the eyes of pre-theory (natural attitude), that is to say, the world is consisted of things which arounding us. Secondly, the fact is regarded as the object in subjectivity, it is the pure phenomena that presents in human consciousness, the precondition of the consciousness activity is this kind of fact, at the same time, the existence of the fact also based on this activity, I called it"apperception fact" . Thirdly, it is different to pre-mentioned, another kind of fact exists in physical studies, the manner of its exist presents physical laws and mathematics formulas. Fourthly, the fact itself is language and proposition, this fact consists a world that make up of logical hypothesis and abstract things, the content of discussion is mainly from Ludwig Wittgenstein' s philosophy. I distinguished the concept of fact, in order to indicate that the corresponding relation between all the significations of fact and principle of causality in different philosophical stages.In ancient Greece, philosopher searched the cause of every thing, but indeed, they quested for the inner nature of the world. The existence and the movement of the. whole world starts from an abstract cause, Herakleitos regarded the cause as"Fire" , Platon named it "Good" , Aristotle defined it "Four Cause" . Inconclusion, this cause is the very reason in the movement of human spirit----Logos.In physics, the causation in which hides physical fact is some rules, it is only regarded as a form of nature law, but not the law itself. In modern philosophy, causation had finally evolved into intellectual category, and this intellectual rule becomes a criterion of empiristic fact, furthermore, one of the origins of the human knowledge is based on causation category. Lastly, comparative to logical inference, the law of causation is rooted the diachronic connection between two empiristic facts. The human search after a "reason" in local inference and find a "cause" in causation inference, it is just the metaphysic foundation of causation itself.
