The Practicing Regulation of the Imperial College, a kind of teaching administrationsystem, was firstly established in Ming Dynasty which was the summit period of the Chinesefeudal society. It was set up because of the shortness of the government officials in early MingDynasty, and the influence of Zhu Yuanzhang's instructing principle who was the firstemperor of the period. This kind of practicing was a course of letting the Imperial Collegestudents going into every government office and practicing official affairs to be experiencedafter they finished their study in the college, and if they were up to the standard of the course,they could be qualified to become officials. Zhu Yuanzhang formulated the PracticingRegulation in his ruling time ----Hongwu period, and it was developed and completed in themiddle Ming Dynasty, but was more and more destroyed by the end of the dynasty because ofsome deviation during its implementation. Nevertheless, it was a deep influential educationalteaching administration system of the Imperial College in Ming Dynasty because it reallyrealized the combination of the textbooks, teaching in class with practical education;meanwhile, it was an important personal system during the period because it cultivated a greatnumber of practical talents for the ruling class when it was carried out regularly. Although itwas declined and fallen as a teaching system in the end, it can provide some referentialexperience and practical guild-lines for nowadays' high educational reform and experiencewith its educational ideology about combining school teaching with social practice.This paper was elaborated into four parts:The first part discusses the connection between Taixue and Guozijian both were thenames of the Imperial College and simplifies the meaning of the Practicing Regulation of theImperial College, then gives the readers a survey of the early studies.The second part is to analyses the background of the Practicing Regulation's emerging,clarifies the course of its establishment, development and decline.What the main point in part three is to introduce the content of the Practicing Regulation,which includes its requirement, method, time limit, examination, the appointments of thosepractitioners and so on.In the last part, there is a summary of the Practicing Regulation's main characteristic andenlightening guidance that it provided to the high educational teaching reform and experiencein nowadays.
