Zhu Yuan-zhang, who set up the Ming Dynasty by the Peasants' War at the end of the Yuan Dynasty thought very highly of the education and before the Ming Dynasty was set up, he had established the Imperial College to cultivate the talents. After the Ming Dynasty was set up, Zhu Yuan-zhang regarded the education as his basic strategy to manage state affairs for Ming's eternal rule. So, on the one hand, he continued to develop the Imperial College education to cultivate the talents for the government and on the other hand, he developed the local education.Zhu Yuan-zhang founded the perfect bureaucratic system and the rigid administrative regime for the Imperial College to cultivate the talents that the country needed. He selected the Instructors to administer the Imperial College and to cultivate the students. The Imperial College cultivated many talented students and gain obvious effect.After Zhu Di had mounted the throne, he also established another Imperial College in Beijing in 1403, So there were two Imperial Colleges during the Ming Dynasty.The main body of the Imperial College was the Instructors and the Imperial College Students.
