Ryukyu as an island country in the southeast sea of China began to pay tributeto China from the early of the Ming Dynasty. From Ming Dynasty changing to QingDynasty, the society was very queasy. This effected the relation between China andRyukyu. Through this paper's analyzing and expatiating, the reader can know aboutthe relation of paying tribute between China and Ryukyu, especially the relation is anepitome of the relation between China and her peripheral country. Through studyingthe relation, not only appeared the pomp of China and Ryukyu, but also posted therelation between China which was under the system of different dynasties and herperipheral country. Besides, this paper focuses on how to finish the relation of payingtribute between China and Ryukyu. During the process, the change of the complicatedrelation of Qing Dynasty, Ryukyu and Japan exploits a new study area. It is veryvaluable for studying the relation between China and Ryukyu, and studying therelation between China and Japan.This paper includes four parts. Firstly, the relation's funding and developingbetween China and Ryukyu in Qing Dynasty. Mostly discuss the relation's generalsituation before and in the Qing Dynasty. This makes the reader know about therelation. Secondly, the changing of the relation in Qing Dynsty. Mostly discuss thechanging from Ryukyu being China's accidental part to being China and Japan'saccidental part. From the changing process, analyse the reason. Thirdly, the ending ofthe relation in Qing Dynasty. Analyse the reason of finishing the relation fromstudying the Qing Dynasty's attitude and measure when Japan occupied Ryukyu andnegotiation between China and Japan. This part is the key study. Fourthly, conclusion.Through expatiating the relation and its change in Qing Dynasty, evaluate the gainand lost of foreign policy in this period. From the Ryukyu problem between Chinaand Japan discuss the aggressive character of neoteric Japan in foreign relation.
