Herbet Marcuse is the important representative personage in Frankfurt school of thought, his thought mainly derived from Heidegger, youth Marx, Hegel and Floyd. On this foundation, he formed his social theory to criticize the capitalism, namely the theory of social critique.Marcuse's theory of social critique including three major parts: critical social theory, critical civilized theory and critical revolutionary theory. The critical social theory beginned with the analysis developed industry society's morbid state, showing the social reality of the twisted human under social the superficies of a material prosperity. The science and technology become the new types of control, that is to say, it becomes a kind of ideology. Under the false need control, the human loses the consciousness to criticize or deny this reality and this society became unidirectional; Through transforming Floyd's constrained civilized theory, the critical civilized theory proposed the probability of realizing the non-constrained civilization in the society under which the love and desire were constrained; The new revolutionary theory is the Marcuse's attempts to seek liberation which includes the artistic evolutionism, the social evolutionism discusses with the nature evolutionism theory.Marcuse realistic analysis of modern capitalism and certainly deserved approval, some of his ideas are positive for us to develop Marxism, however, he also has the typical ideological mistakes and limitations.This article aims to clearly gather Marcuse's theory of social critique, and give some felicitous comments through the introduction of the theory.
