The Topic-comment Structure And Information Structure Of Presentative Sentence

Presentative sentence is a common used sentence pattern with its special characteristics in modern Chinese. From the foundation of the previous studies, this paper will do a deeper research on the topic-comment structure and information structure on the pragmatic dimension of presentative sentence, under the support of three dimensions theories and the related knowledge of cognitive grammar. Use syntax and semantics as basis, together with the factors of dynamic discourses. The whole paper can be divided into four parts as followings:The first part gives definition, classification and characteristics of syntax structure and meaning to presentative sentence.The second part analyzes the basic form of topic-comment structure and the functions of the topic-comment structure in presentative sentence. Discuss the requirements that the topic elements mean in presentative sentence and explains the specialties of the sentence pattern in presentative sentence that has special meaning in typology, through the relative knowledge of cognitive grammar.The third part analyzes the features of information structure and the information transmission in presentative sentence. If the words,in the front of the sentence,showing the places does not belong to the same class, it will influence the arrangement of the information. The value of the information transmitted will differ according to the style of presentative sentence.The fourth part explains a special kind presentative sentence from grammaticalization and lexicalization points. That is the forming reason of the presentative sentence without verbs and nouns as predicates.
