Under the guidance of three-dimensional grammar, using Case Grammar and Functional Grammar for reference and basing on firsthand language materials, this dissertation gives a full discussion of modern Chinese existence sentences. The name of Chinese existence sentence comes mainly from semantic view, so this dissertation put forward the semantic criterion in judging Chinese existence sentences with the assistance of form standard. On the basis of the semantic standard, the author has made certain the scope of existence sentence and reconsidered the definition of existence sentence. About the semantic case of Chinese existence sentences, the author holds that the semantic role of the Part A is location case. For the semantic valency of Chinese existence sentences, the dissertation points out there are close relations between the verb's valency and the sentence patterns. Under the control of some special sentence patterns, the numbers of verb's valency can be increased or decreased.
