The Primary Study On Time Words Of Zuo Zhuan

Zuo Zuan is one of the magnum opuses of archaic literatures during Chun Qiu Period. It is not only a turer history works, but also has very high value of language materials. In this works, time words are more abundant and more representational.The primary study on time words of ZuoZhuan is a treatise that researches and coordinates the time words of Zuo Zhuan . The treatise first classifies the time words of Zuo Zhuan systemically in order to show temporal recording fashion of time unitarily and clearly, after that, analyses the framework of time words, maily about three kinds: time word, time phrase and time sentence, whereafter, depicts the conjunctional words which connect the time words and analyses their semantic function. The treatise then specializes two kinds of special time words: ordinal time words and corresponding time words. The ordinal time words embody the character of time words more evidently just as sequence, circulation,continuity and so on. The corresponding time words emphasize particularly on discussing the rootstock and signification from esthetic aspect. In the fifth part, the treatise discusses the vague character of time words of Zuo Zuan and try to derives the rootstock of it , maily from four aspects: the subjective reason, the objective reason, the reason of the language symbols when they are used and the social reason.
