Study About Problems In The Reformation Of English Teaching In Military Colleges

The 21^st century is the age of economics, of information, of competition for talents. With the entrance to WTO, it is historically important for our education field, especially our foreign languages-teaching circles to cultivate international talents. Foreign languages teaching, especially English teaching is challenged with new demands. However, chained by traditional education for examination,"a graduate from some local college can not understand English well or speak English fluently."(LiLanqing). Many educators especially English teachers in our military colleges are embarrassed with these facts. At present, high education reformation represented by reformation in teaching is being carried on. The reformation on teaching materials, on the examination including CET4, CET6 and the establishment of PETS show that the education ideology based on"quality education"is coming into being. Quality education requires our teachers not only to teach students to command some essential knowledge's, but also teach them to study by themselves, since the ability of learning is the real end of quality education. So we teachers should turn the teaching pattern from"teaching knowledges"to"cultivating students in their ability of study themselves", from"teacher-oriental"to"teacher-leading, student-principle"This paper discusses on the developing trend in a further way after analysis and study about the problems in our college English teaching system in our military colleges. Then the writer raises a design for reformation on English teaching in our military colleges, so that our English teaching will help our students improve their all-around qualities and promote their continuable development.This thesis can be divided into three parts:In the first part, the writer tells the challenge to our English teaching in our military college in the era of new Revolution in Military Affairs.
