Wang Hongyin (1953-), born in Shanxi Huayin, is the professor of Foreign Language College of Nan Kai University. He mainly engages in the translation of Chinese classics and translation theory's research. During his long period practice, sets of unique translation theory and systematic translation principles have been formed. This paper intends to make an analysis of Wang Hongyin's achievement and contribution in details. It includes Sikongtu 's Realm of Poetry, Shitao's Painting Theory and Mudan's Poems, Changan Translation Theory and Classical Interpretation of China Traditional Translation Theories and so on. He also publishes more than thirty academic theses that originated from his much experience. On his long way to translation practice and research, he absorbs the newest achievement of modern linguistics, psychology, arts and many other subjects. He puts forward his own unique translation ideas on basis of his much translation practice and research. Gradually a set of systematic translation principles has been established and accepted in the translation field, which cover translation conception, translation characteristics, translation process, method, principle and effect etc. In the second part one of hisbasic translation principles------following nature is advocated, which means to becrude, inartificial diction in the process of translation and to make every effort to be close to the original both in form and soul. According to various styles of literary works he also formed a set of systematic translation principles including naming and renaming, sentence rendering, conciseness and consideration, unity and variety, taste and plasticity, image and imagination, rhythm in freedom, cohesion in fluency, textuality redesigned and title and type, all of which are the supplement and interpretation of following nature. Of course his translation principles are greatly worthwhile to be applied meanwhile it also has more room to explore and improve when facing complicated and flexible translation materials.
