A Sort Of Inherent Imperfection

This thesis attempts to inspect XU Xu's novels from his solitary identity and existence . With the hurdling of this method , which does not focus on XU Xu's genre as usual, we can have a good understanding of his novels ,and grasp the true internality of this anchorless soul's solitary existence which are deeply expressed by the writer through the novels: the narration appearance , the shaping of the figures ,as well as his own mental feeling about life and final heart roads. The whole thesis consists of four parts:The first part is emphasizing on XU Xu's solitary position which is outside the mainstream of the literary world, and pointing out his special comprehension and cognition of life .Cling to the text, we can also find that the writer's solitary existence had lead him to look for dialogize which is reflected through the novels.The second part is emphasizing on XU Xu's try of making up the solitary life ,which can also be explained as the journey of looking for himself and soul habitat. There are two ways: The first one in the novels wrote before 1950 is the looking for beauty and love and the second one in the novels wrote in Hong Kong after 1950 is the return to home. Moreover, this part tries to make clear the writer's meaning and intention in writing beauty , love and home.The third part is even trying to analyze XU Xu's solitary existence in his novels based on careful-reading, pointing out XU Xu's deep comprehension and imperfect expression of the solitary existence .This endows the text with strong philosophical deepness and life impressibilities.The fourth part is emphasizing on the solitary experiences which continuously make XU Xu to find out the meaning of life and fate as well as his own end-result. From the angle of his experiences, we will look into the writer's painful feeling about existence and the puzzled thought about person value . In other words, XU Xu 's ultimately converting to Catholicism is his religious care for a paradise which is peacefuh sufficient and perfect.The remaining part is emphasizing on the character of XU Xu 's solitary existence, which reflected in his novels is the outside form of love stories with the inside kernel of looking for ego and life true meanings. This kind of deepness that exploring the life and inquiring about the existence make XU Xu surmount the history equally, and establish his value and significance in the" modernity" progress of Chinese modern literature.
