Since the May 4th enlightenment movement, " Feminine liberation " was put agenda as a theme of " Human's awakening ". However, from the discussion about the feminine liberation in the magazine New Youth, which was the theory front of the May 4th enlightenment movement, we could see that the male enlighteners drifted away from the oppression of sexuality because of the male supremacy which came from the sexual identity tradition. Female enlightenment was neither the starting point nor the end of enlightenment. But objectively, the women profited actually and their subjective consciousness started to wake. Bing Xin, Feng Yuan-jun, Lu Yin, Ling Shu-hua were the first generation of female writing groups. They launched the beginning of female narrative. But their works were only the response and echo of the male historical grand narrative.Ding Ling's early work marked the initial sprout of the wakefulness of female subjective consciousness. The collapse of male power, female independence and the wakefulness of the female emotion, which were demonstrated in her works, all pointed to the wakefulness of the female subjective consciousness. But Ding Ling was not a conscious feminist, the female subjective consciousness could not be recognized and accepted by social consciousness. In absolute isolation, the only thing she could do was to return to the collectivism orbit of the May 4th enlightenment movement — Ding Ling' works in the 1930s was a symbol of this return. Ding Ling's " return " did not mean that she betrayed her female subjective position. She intended to integrate strongly the female position into the collectivism. The split in Ding Ling's novel texts in the1930s-1940s reflected the abnormal development of the female subject within collectivism. With standardization and normalization of the political group, female subject consciousness was strongly restricted gradually. Finally, although Din Ling transcended the woman traditional destiny as a female individual, she had to give up thinking about the whole female destiny. " The Moth flying into the fire" is a fable that indicates the predestinate tragedy of the female subject in the political group. This paper is mainly divided into three parts: In Chapter 1 it analyzes theory logic of the May 4th enlightenment movement and the works of the first female writing generation;in the following chapter it make a detailed study on Din Ling's early texts which indicated the initial sprout of the wakefulness of female subjective consciousness;the finale Chapter analyzes the abnormal development of the female subject within political group.
