At present, the piano career is flourishing. In order to improve the performance theory of the piano, we should explore how to form the correct attitude about voice, and the scientific foundations and methods dealing with the problems of performance itself. The performance of piano is not just a skill of fingers, and the most important is an art thinking activity and mental processing. The higher the art thinking of the performer is, the more accurate the understanding and the performance of works are.Inspiration has an important role in the performance of piano. For the moment, the study of inspiration in the piano field is rare, and this thesis is a significant attempt to that study. We manage to clarify the cognitive mistakes about the theory of inspiration with the help of the construction and the complement of the theoretic system and provide a platform for the studies concerned. The attempt of this thesis is to cause the concerns of the piano field and the art field and make them study this subject, which has strong theoretical value and practical significance. On the basis of the combination of music psychology, music aesthetics, and music performance, etc, this thesis uses the previous studies for reference and adopts the method of logic thinking and argumentation by exemplification. This thesis presents the definition, characteristics, types, forming conditions and mechanism of inspiration, demonstrates the roles of inspiration in the piano performance from three perspectives, and summarizes the four stimulative approaches. It is assumed that inspiration has important roles and scientific stimulative approaches in the performance of piano, and we should make more possibilities for the appearance of inspiration in the piano performance.
