This essay is composed of some 35000 words and divided into fou chapters inwhich theauthor has an integrated study on The Study on The qi legalists. In the 1stand 2nd chapter some fundamentalquestions of Guanzi are discussed;In the 3ndchapter study the relations of Guanzito the other scholars (such as Confucius, Xuncius,Mengcius, Hanfeizi ete.) are mainlydiscussed;In chapter four is the artistic thoughtsand the classifications of thewriting styles of Guanzi are discussed.The 1st chapter mainly discusses the relation of Guangzhou to Guanzi andJixiaxuegong.Guanzhong was an outstanding statesman as well as a thinker. The bookof Guanzi was not written by Guanzhong himself, but the book recorded the thoughts,words and deeds ofGuanzhong as a matter of fact, Which has a higher historic valuefor study. The main content of the book of Guanzi was completed in the unique ageand situation of Jixiaxuegon in Zhan guo, so the book of Guanzi has a clear feature ofthat age and the integrity of learning.The 2nd chapter discusses the matters of the author, age, editing and edition of thebook ofGuanzi. The essay says that the book of Guanzi was neither written by a singleperson norwritten at one time. It was a collection written by the scholars who admiredthe achievementsof Guanzi in Chunqiu and Zhanguo ages. Perhaps the book ofGuanzi was handed down with a passage at first. However, many different passagesand booklets met together constantly andat last the book was edited by Liuxiang.Probably 21 or 22 kinds o f booklets were handeddown before Liuxiang edited it. Thethoughts of Taoism has great influence on guanzi from five aspects.The 3rd chapter mainly compares the generalization discussed in Guanzi andin written by Simanan---of thoughts of Huangdi and Laozi with other The S`hchapter discusses the thoughts of Faism in the book of Guanzi from six aspects. Thesucceeding works all classified Guanzi into Faism, but Guanzidoes have the thoughtsof Faism from the view of politics, while it has obvious differences with the Faism inQin and Jin dynasty----it is a combination of Taoism and Faism, rules and courtesies,regulations and morals, and it also stresses man-centred idea which is more reasonablethan the three in dynasty's severe sentence and unkindness and mean.In the 4th chapter the author compared Guanzi with Zuozhuan, Lunyu, Mengziand other works of Confucianism and made a statistic of the terms of Confucianismdescribing the thoughts of Confucianism in Guanzi in three aspects. The author had afurther study on the military thoughts in Guanzi and concluded that the militarythoughts of Guanzi succeeded Sunzibingfa and passed on to Sunbinbingfa, whichmakes it very important in China's history of military thoughts. It proposed a series ofmilitarythoughts and military strategies that are still of great interest to the moderntimes.
