Before the"September 18"incident, it was essentially Japanese national policy that Manchuria Railway Company managed the Northeast of China. To strengthen the economic control of south of Northeast China and further the whole Northeast, Manchuria Railway Company swept all economic fields in this region. Under the principle of"Dalian Centralism", the Company managed railways, harbors, and trading businesses, and furthermore the Company competed against Middle East railway of Russia through the custom and price policies to achieve the goal that the soybeans of Northeast would be exported at Dalian hence the development of colonial economy under control of Japanese power.The soybeans in Northeast of China were very important export products in this region and the trade of soybeans drove forcefully the development of Northeast's modern economy. During the commercialization and internationalization of the soybeans, their transportation and circulation were under firm control of Manchuria Railway Company, which made the development of soybean trades on behalf of Japan's national will and political consideration. The most important of all, the translation fees for Northeastern Soybeans brought large quantities of income which became the main sources of their benefits. Those fees played a significant role in the development of Manchuria Railway Company.This thesis is divided into the following parts:Introduction: this part introduces the main ideas of the whole paper and the research status on Manchuria Railway Company and economic history of Northeast of China.Chapter One: this part gives a general discussion of Japanese policies on Northeast, including the establishment of Manchuria Railway Company and Dalian Centralism.Chapter Two: this part expands the specific measures under the guideline of Manchuria Railway Company. The adjustment of Northeast's railroad net, the establishment of"special translation fee", the further construction of Dalian harbor, and relevant customs policies led Dalian in its development becoming the second largest harbor of China. At the same time, Dalian Harbor served as a base of Manchuria Railway Company for monopoly of commercial rights of NortheastChapter Three: This part discusses the exportation of Northeast's soybeans under the control of Manchuria Railway Company in European, Japanese and Chinese markets respectively. Furthermore, it analyzes the impact of commercialization of Northeastern soybeans and Manchuria Railway Company on each other.Chapter Four: this part specifies Northeastern soybeans'impact on Manchuria Railway Company's development, and proposes that the transportation fee of those soybeans was the...
