Starting in France in 19th century, symbolism is a world literatual trend. It made important contributions towards the development of world modern literature. Particularly symbolism's systematic artistic principles, depicting methods and aesthetic pursuit in poetry created a poetry world .With symbolism's poetry principle-----musicality as the constructive platform and starting with Chinese neo-poetry musicality, the thesis laid stress on Chinese symbolism poetists'theoretical illustration about neo-poetry musicality, combined neo-poetry creation's exploiting practice and text analyses, and focused on Chinese neo-poetry's exploiting road towards musicality and its overall characteristics, revealing the process of modern development of Chinese neo-poetry musicality. In methodology, the thesis took account of influence, reception and comparative researches. Through diachronic description, the thesis illustrates the internal mechanism and outside conditions of the development of Chinese neo-poetry musicality, correctly grasping neo-poetry musicality's integration and deviation of oriental classical tradition and western modern characteristics.Starting with musicality's generalization , the analyses on symbolism musicality's modern"transformation"is the internal basis of the thesis's logical cue. Furthermore, through the clear carding and general summing of the emergence, dynamic trace and general characteristics of Chinese neo-poetry musicality's modern pursuit, the thesis revealed much"reform"of Chinese neo-poetry in musicality. Finally, the thesis made a brief analysis on Chinese neo-poetry's influences upon classical tradition and western alien land, particularly laid stress on the similarities and differences between the musicality pursuit of oriental and western poetry.
