This paper has made a three-dimension analysis of the speech made by Hillary based on the Functional Grammar in order to explain the speaker's inner world such as ideology, purpose etc. which were meanings expressed or hidden in her wording and possible sociological reasons for her choice of wording. The paper consists of three main parts which correspond to the three Metafunctions: Interpersonal Metafunction, Experiential Metafunction and Textual Metafunction so that a three-dimentional analysis can be made.In Chapter 1, the significance of analyzing the speech is introduced as well as the approach to and the purpose of the analysis.In Chapter 2, the relationship Hillary wanted to establish between her and the audience can be revealed through the analysis in terms of finite modal operators, metaphors of modality and evaluation. The analysis of this chapter has been accomplished by analyzing the Interpersonal Metafunction of the language.Through her deliberate and careful use of the Finite Modal Operators, what atmosphere Hillary tried to create is discussed; through the use of Metaphors of Modality, what image Hillary tried to create for herself is explored; and through the Evaluation, what standpoint Hillary took in her speech is uncovered.In Chapter 3, the way Hillary expressed her ideas is studied through the analysis in terms of process types and circumstances. The analysis of this chapter has been realized by analyzing the Experiential Metafunction of the language. In the analysis of the process types, the focus is on the existential, mental, material, relational, behavioral, and verbal processes and the proportion of the different types is found out and the reasons are given for the statistical data. As far as the analysis of circumstances is concerned, the focus is on analyzing diffeerent types of circumstances in theme and Rheme and revealing how Hillary drew the audience's attention to the current problems.In Chapter 4, Hillary's true attitude towards the voters is surveyed through the analysis in terms of conjunction, lexical repetition and reference.
