The translator is a decisive factor, as well as indispensable, in both the process of translating and for a successful translation, and his/her subjectivity will no longer be neglected. Enlightened by the theory from Gadamer's hermeneutics and Derrida's deconstruction, the subjectivity manifests in three aspects, namely, the translator's subjective initiative, creativity and restrictions to their subjectivity. It is also necessary to analyze the relation between the translated text and source text, and that between the translator and the author with the purpose to give a thorough analysis of the subjectivity of the translator. The purpose of this thesis, first, is to firmly define translators as the subject, so that their rights to choose the source texts and the criteria for translation, and to maintain their own values and their orient of thoughts, which translators deserve, can be guaranteed. Second, to propose that pluralistic researches centering on translators should be conducted, especially on translators'thoughts, through which translators'function can reach its full recognition and acceptance by the whole society.
