This article tries to research the difference between "NP zai na " and "nayou NP" in syntax, semantic features, cognition, presupposition. It thentries to explain the difference from the internal to the external base on thetheory of cognition. These two structures are conditioned by the wordorder and modifiers in syntax. In semantic feature, NP in "NP zai na"equals to [+identifiable], and NP in "na you NP" equals to[+nonidentifiable]. In cognition, the most important difference isfigure-ground distinction, and this distinction results in indifferent imagery, which regulates the different word order between the two structures on thegrounds of sequencing iconicity (PTS). Due to the cognitive difference, these two structures form different presupposition, which is the mostpivotal factor that influences their usage. At the end of this dissertation, weuse these conclusions on Teaching Chinese as A Foreign Language, andpropose some solution.
