In the verbal communication, each communicative corpus is the discourse role cluster, acting several discourse roles. At the particular communicative situation, the communicative corpus needs to choose the appropriate discourse role; otherwise the verbal communication might fail. In order to avoid this failure, sometimes the communicative corpus needs to carry on the adjustment, towards choosing the discourse role who selected and orientated before. The basis that the discourse role adjust is to adapt different factors, such as context, communicative corpus and topic, etc. Since in the verbal communication process, the expresser controls the active power of the speech organizing, producing, and adjustment. This study focused on the expresser's discourse role adjusting, the premises of such an adjustment, and its value in the verbal communication, for categorizing expresser's strategy in the adjustment.It was concluded that the appropriate discourse role awareness is the important premise of the discourse role adjustment. Without the right discourse role awareness, the expresser can't playing his own discourse role appropriately, never mention if the discourse role was wrongly selected, or oriented. The value of the expresser discourse role adjustment is embedded in the facts that the expresser can adaptating the communicative context, topic, and corpuses by adjusting his discourse role, guarantee the verbal social intercourse to be success. According to the different standards, the strategy type of the expresser's discourse role adjustment were divided in to the active or passive, positive or negative, verbal or non-verbal. Each strategy of adjustment can be subdivided to several small types again.
