The period of "May Fourth Movement" is a source for Contemporary literature. Foreign theories of literature and art had been performed in the Chinese literary circles one after another during the "May Fourth". Looked from the depth and time, they can't be compared with foreign ones, but these superficial theories and practices become abundant recessive sources of development of Contemporary Literature in the future. In this paper, we inquire into the artistic and narrative transition of novels in the period of "May Fourth" by the modern novels in "novel monthly magazine" from 1921 to 1931.The paper is divided into three major parts. In the first part, the writer discusses the transmutation of narrative content in novels during "May Fourth" by the "May Fourth " particular historical context in order to look for the basic and rational explanation for transition of narrative model. As the special literature design in particular era, we can't go beyond the variation on the content .This content will pin down the development of the form after all. The development of narrative content about the "May Fourth" novel embodies in following three respects emphatically. The first respect is that the Women's status is strengthened especially among narrative works. The second respect is the clearing up of traditional novel "story". The third respect is the retirement of "hero type" personage. In the second part, the writer mainly discusses the change of the narrative visual angle. This change of the narrative visual angle which is the important component of Narratology will cause a series of changes of the research in Narratology. The change of the visual angle is prominent in the "May Fourth" period. The first person restrained visual angle's emerging and the third person restrained visual angle's practice break through traditional Chinese novel's omniscient and omnipotent narrative model, which initiates the overall change of the narrative visual angle and has promoted the modern novel's shaping and further development. In the third Part, the writer emphatically discusses the further development of the skill about narration during the course of the "May Fourth". In this part we especially discusse the changes of narrative time and narrative rhythm. These changes make modern novel "unfamiliar" day by day and change the traditional procedure aesthetic reading of traditional Chinese novel. Readers' aesthetic interest and reading interest are shifted effectively.
