The Tails of Yijian is the Southern Song Dynasty scholar and writer HongMai's representative works. By the rich story, the diverse structural style, the changeable narration posture, the difference appeal, it has constructed a kingdom being rich in the narrative connotation esthetically and exploration. Also it becomes an important model to discuss the esthetic of narrative on the novels of Zhiguai.This article mainly is to discuss the Tails of Yijian and its narrative characteristic in six parts.First, in the structural style aspect, the text is summarized to four kind of forms with the illusion, the retributive justice, ghost and monster, gods and taost, and its concrete, dynamic structural framing.The summary for the kind of forms is advantageous to the story overall assurance, as well as to discover the multiplicity in various forms,by according to the structural styles in the novels;Second, in the narration and its the angle of view aspect, the text concerns on the relations in the narrator and the author, the character and the personal in the literary style of short story. Futhermore it discusses the special judgement on limit-knowledge, entire-knowledge or the first person, and the sound with publicly involvement,the commentary or the note records, and recessive involvement, as well as a special narrative strategy of the meta-narrative and anti-meta-narrative;Third, in the level aspect, it concerns the flexible and contract narrative levels in two aspects of fixed and expand,also its function and flaw in level division;Fourth, it concerns the space and time broadness,and it focus on the constitution with space and time crisscrossed,demonstrated through the person and gohst by this world and the nether world is interlinked, the ancient and modern collects, the dream and really mutually proves;Fifth,it discusses that the chapter form is the preliminary consummation symbol, specially for the Zhiguai novels. Under the Confucianist thought and its ethics idea, the religious and the retribution form ,it also has manifested HongMai's concernation on reality and human nature. Moreover,the technique utilization by fable, satire,and understanding in novel characteristic and function, contenting his contribution;Sixth, from the characteristic it writes down the aspect of narration appeal, such as historic lesson,entertainment,and so on in the novel,especially the Zhiguai novels. As well as the nanative demeanour overall style,for example, desire-to-reality,the letter, shallow and vulgar.Taking Tails of Yijian as the model,I emphatically discuss the narrative characteristic and its the connotation, the literary of style for short story system ,and attempts to further arouse the people specially to writes down the novel to the Chinese literary novel ,and the esthetic connotation value, then develop narrating research area for a new ball game.
