Experiments Concerning Relationship Between Self-Worth And Aggressive Behavior

Aggression is personal or verbal behavior in order to hurt others. There are many researches about implicit and explicit aggression domestic and overseas, but so far no researcher classified personality and discussed relationships between personality and aggression. So this paper discussed relationships between self-worth and aggressive behaviors. It contains recognition and preference tests about aggressive pictures and being aggressed pictures, we discussed differences between global, general social and general individual self-worth of three groups which have high, middle and low rates of hit and preference by fast presented pictures. The result shows that:1. In the recognition test of aggressive pictures, there are significant differences between people who have high, middle and low hit rates in global self-worth, there are no significant differences in general social and general individual self-worth. Higher global self-worth, more aggressive pictures been recalled.2. In the recognition test of being aggressive pictures, there are no significant differences between people with high, middle and low hit rates in global self-worth and general individual self-worth. And there are significant differences between people with high and low hit rates in general social self-worth. Recalled being aggressive pictures have more relations with general social self-worth.3. In the preference test of aggressive pictures, there are significant differences between people with high and low preference rates in global self-worth, there are no significant differences between people with high, middle and low preference rates in general social and general individual self-worth. It verified the modern views of self-worth and aggression.4. In the preference test of being aggressive pictures, there are no significant differences between people with high, middle and low preference rates in global self-worth, general social and general individual self-worth. It accords with the traditional Chinese education and culture.
