Probing Into The Origin And Function Of Moral From The Viewpoint Of Economic Games

Moral as a social consciousness does not deviate the economic activity, which is the foundation of human society activity. In modern times, the combination of the economics and the ethics has caught economists' attention. Using the methodology of game to observe moral behavior is the tendency of ethics field. The economics study without the ethics would counterwork its own development, and the ethics without the economics is barren. In the development of the modern ethics, there are many studies on the compatible among the ethics and the economics, but few of researches on the moral by using the economic methodology, which is the emphasis of this paper. The game theory, as the most vital analysis tool in modern development of the economics, is also used in exploring the origin, the nature, and the function of moral. By the analysis of game pattern, we find that in fact the moral originates from the society gaming behaviors, and is the regulation of balancing each other's benefits. The most important function of the moral is to assort with interpersonal benefits, and to make them know how to obtain the utility maximization. There are four parts in this paper: the aim of the economic activities; the moral that the gaming behaviors give birth to; the nature and characteristics of the moral; the function of the moral.
