This paper intends to probe into the development, evolution and the artistic features of the divine poems.The divine poems, as a kind of special Chinese poetic forms, can be traced back to the very early time. The first true divine poem was Go out Traveling written by Qu Yuan in the Warring States period. To the six dynasties from Han to Beichao, the divine poem witnessed its sprout, prosperity and decline. And Wei & Jin Dynasties were a composing climax of divine poems.Definition and Classification of Divine poems The divine poem refers to a kind of poetic forms in which the poet imagined himself wandering in the heaven, the fairyland or other similar illusive places and in which he looked forward to the immortality. On the basis of the poets' purposes, the paper classifies the divine poems into lyrics expressing one's depression, lyrics expressing one's joy of becoming immortal, and poems of wandering in Tao, among which the lyrics expressing one's depression and dreams dominated divine poems.Chapter 1 Development and Evolution of Divine Poems Divines sprouted in the pre-Qin period and Go out Traveling has long been considered the first of this kind. The development of the divine poem was influenced by the myths of the remote antiquity. Due to the rise of the theology in Han Dynasty, the divine poems made up the happy life of immortals and hence prayed for longevity.
