Therefore, the thesis starts from the understanding of Taoism and the Taoist situation from the origin for further probing into Du Guangting's mission to write, which is the major task for the thesis and also becomes the first chapter. Chapter One focuses on Du Guangting's grand aspiration to writing "Dao De Zhen jing Guang sheng yi", that is to say to create the atmosphere of duplicate metaphysics by examining the in Tao Te Ching in all dynasties.Chapter Two puts the emphasis on the elaboration of the method and dialectical thinking applied by Du Guangting in the process of summing up the duplicate metaphysics thought.
