Meta-linguistic Research On Adjectival Paraphasing Models In Modern Chinese Dictionary

To paraphrase words rightly is very important to the dictionary. This thesis make a meta-linguistic research on one part of speech,the adjectives,in Modern Chinese Dictionary.Based on scientific and systemic principles, the research uses methods as follows: induction,which is mostly used, qualitative analysis,statistic frequency and sentence distribution analysis etc. I want to make a all-sided research on the paraphrasing model system of the adjectives,first of all,after building a database of the adjectives in Modern Chinese Dictionary, the language of its lemmas and paraphrasing models are firstly analysed,by analyzing their types,number and characteristics;then,the statistic frequency and semantic comparision are picked up to finding out the rules;finally, according to the distribution of models and semantic comparision, the preferred system of adjectival paraphrasing models is builded.The purpose of meta-linguistic research on paraphrasing system is to perfect it.As an action of paraphrasing characteristics of words,there are several component rules which should be observed.By analyzing the meta-linguistic paraphrasing models for the adjectives in Modern Chinese Dictionary ,I conclude three component rules: "veracity", "clearness" and "systematism", "systematism" includes rules of "identity", "oneness" and "symmetry".
