In modern society with the rapid progress in communication technology, the world evolves into a global village. The importance of intercultural communication takes on added urgency. Especially after China entered WTO and undertook the Olympic Games in 2008, English as the international language, plays the dominant role in communication. How to improve the student' ICC competence has become the ultimate goal in English teaching. Based on the constructivism, humanism and social interaction theory, this thesis argues that the goal can be reached through interactive oral language teaching style with the cultural knowledge input as the teaching content.Interactive language teaching is a student-centered model. Teachers have the responsibilities to create a relaxed atmosphere in class, enhance the students' intercultural awareness, adopt some attractive activities to make them involved in and speak up. It can overcome the deficiencies in traditional teaching model, and realized the improvement of the ICC competence in the course of interaction between teachers and students.The thesis explores the interactive oral language teaching model, its theoretical basis, the interactive principles and implement an experiment, which shows that this model is helpful for improving the students' ICC competence.
