Liu Xie's opinion on speech & intention in WEN XIN DIAO LONG was complexing, his anlage was "speech can express one's intention adequately", nevertheless ,he had some saying of "speech cann't express one's intention adequately". In order to solve the problem of "speech cann't express one's intention adequately", Liu Xie put out a device "meaning accrues outside the passage", he advocated the writers displayed their intention outside the passage by the way of rhetoric or forming images. This article analyzes WEN XIN DIAO LONG's concept on Speech & Intention from the aspect of Pragmatics.
