As a middle school teacher I have encountered many issues in my process of teaching, but the thorniest one is the students' passive learning attitudes and the stifling exam forms. In order to change the students' passive learning attitudes, I tried my best to improve my teaching methods. But the efficiency was not satisfactory. The exam forms can't make the students study autonomously. So I decided to try another assessment style-formative assessment. Iwould change summative assessment which focuses on results into formative assessment which focuses on process. I would like to cultivate the students' autonomous learning consciousness and ability. I respected my students, made friends with them and had equal talks with them. I timely found the students requirements and progress, reflected my teaching efficiency and adjusted my teaching and assessment plans to make them more interested in their study and develop their autonomous learning and creative spirits. My final purpose is to make their learning more efficient.
