On Printings Style Of Yuan Dynasty Blue-and-white Porcelain Wares

The handicraft industry of porcelain flourished in Yuan Dynasty. The Yuan Dynasty Blue-and-white porcelain is an essential and independent species. The article, through amending and developing the early research, find that Yuan Dynasty Blue-and-white porcelain has a variety of styles and complex reasons for its formation. The relevant porcelain paintings also reflect its diversity in styles, the customs and traditions, the appreciation consciousness and the handicraft level at Yuan Dynasty. To sum up, they convey meaningful spirits of Chinese culture and are admitted to be the picture texts about history.Therefore, the process of classifying different porcelain types and exploring their evolution is mainly based on the analysis of the styles and characteristics of porcelain paintings. This dissertation focuses on analyzing the following four aspects: the choice and presentation of the porcelain paintings'main patterns, the presentation languages of under glazed blue-and-white paintings, the space expatiation in the method of painting according to the original figures and the formation of compact and continuous ornaments.This dissertation, at first, draws a detailed conclusion of the general styles of the Yuan Dynasty Blue-and-white porcelain paintings, then analyzes their formation process, and at last focuses on analyzing the following three elements which affect the styles of porcelain paintings: selective adoption of the patterns of utilizing"Brush and Ink"in Chinese ink paintings, inheritance of artisans'painting procedures and rich folk aesthetic tendencies. Finally, this dissertation aims at explaining the underlying complex historical reasons, cultural background and orientation of aesthetic consciousness under the impact of religions.
