Research papers during the 1982 to 1999 era American traditional telephone information industry development. Recalled the traditional telephone industry in the United States, and analyzed its success and baulk to understand of American traditional phone industry on its development potential. Traditional telephone industry also known as the telephone industry, with mobile phone industry, the Internet telephone industry is relatively a telecommunications industry. Generated from the date of the U.S. economy has gradually become the basis for the development of industry, the industry for national economic development by providing information support. From the perspective of history, combining the theory and methods of industrial economics, international economics, sociology and statistics, paper discussed American traditional telephone industry of the late twentieth century. On the basis of the study in the predecessors, it was hoped to interpret the development of the traditional telephone companies, the value and the resistance of traditional telephone industry in information age. At the full of opportunities in the domestic and international environment, the traditional telephone industry in the United States will develop with mobile phone industry, the Internet telephone industry, cable television industry and the computer industry together for quite some time to achieve maximum benefits in the integration of the competitive market.
