Industrial convergence firstly emerged in the Information Industry. With technological innovation and government deregulation, personal computers and the Internet are widely used in a global scale. Industrial convergence was no longer confined within the information industry, but appeared in the other industries as well. At the same time, the in depth level of industrial convergence led the industry boundaries blurring, also some new industrial patterns were formed eventually. Nowadays, Industrial convergence has become an important way to promote the rapid development of the industry and enhance the industrial performance.Since Reform and Opening-up policy were conducted in China, although it developed rapidly, Chinese manufacturing industry especially traditional manuf acturing industry needs to get rid of labor-intensive, high pollution, high energ y consumption, low value-added patterns in a global technological innovation a nd progress environment. In 2015, the State Council released a publication to c learly declare that China should accelerate its pace of manufacturing transition from quantitative beneficial country to qualitative beneficial one. In the 21st ce ntury, creative industry is considered as one of the most promising industry bo th at home and abroad because of its creativity, strong permeability, and high additional value features. In 2014, the State Council also issued Opinions on P romoting the convergence of creative and design services with the related indus tries and strictly pointed out that China should promote the integration of creat ive industry and related industries. In this circumstance, the convergence of cre ative and traditional manufacturing industries is the key point to promote the tr ansformation, improve the industry performance and help with e traditional ma nufacturing industries innovations. Moreover, it has crucial meaning and value t o study on this convergence of manufacturing industries.This paper mainly focuses on how does the convergence of creative and tra ditional manufacturing industries influence the traditional manufacturing performanc e. In this paper, the author firstly defines the concepts and classification of cre ative industries and traditional manufacturing as there is no distinctive definitio ns can be followed. Secondly, based on the theories of industrial convergence an d industrial performance, this paper summarizes the motivation, process, pattern of industrial convergence and factors, measures of industrial performance. Thir dly, this paper discusses motivation, process, pattern, and measures of the conv ergence of creative industry and traditional manufacturing in China on the basi s of above theories, and then retrospects the convergence development history, current situation and facing problems. Finally, according to the mechanism of c onvergence, this paper analyzes the degree of convergence of creative industrie s and traditional manufacturing by using the input-output table. Furthermore, th e analysis of influences of the convergence on traditional manufacturing perfor mance is given after conducting regression model analysis.This paper indicates that the convergence degree of creative industries and traditional manufacturing shows significant positive correlation with traditional manufacturing performance, and thus industrial convergence can be considered as an effective way to promote the performance of traditional manufacturing. I n addition, market structure and the ownership structure can promote the upgra ding of traditional manufacturing performance. Although market openness prom otes the upgrading of traditional manufacturing performance, the synergy betwe en it and the industry convergence is poor. On the summary of combined indu strial convergence theory, current status analysis of creative industries and tradit ional manufacturing and empirical data resolution, this paper gives recommenda tions to improving traditional manufacturing performance from different perspect ives of creative industries, traditional manufacturing, and the convergence of th ese two industries.
