Research On The Historiography Thoughts Of Guo SongTao

Within the past study on Guo SongTao , emphasis were often placed on the cultural view of china and west. With deepening the study, it is necessary to give sight into the historiography thoughts that form and developed Guo SongTao's cultural view. As the important politican and representative of the group of army of Hunan in the late Qing, Guo SongTao's scholastic attainment is very outstanding among the contemporary philtrum. Because of the important status of historiography in China's traditional academic and culture, Chinese traditional intellectual got used to using historiography as an important tool in the face of the society and culture crisis.And beacause the research on the historiography thought of Guo SongTao was still blank in the past, the author thinks that it is necessary to do a systematic study on Guo SongDao's historiography thoughts so that we can acknowlege the overall thought of SongDao Guo .With the reaserch on the Guo SongDao 's academic personality in the start,this paper elaborated the origin of Guo SongDao's historiography thought and the academic background of the late Qing that had influence on Guo SongDao's historiography thought.The writer think the practical academic personality that concurrently adopt between Han and Song is the main characteristic of Guo SongDao's historiography thought; though Guo SongTao pesist on the learning of Song ,and study Confucian as the foundation,he inherited the tradition of the simple historical materialism since the end of Ming Dynasty in his conception of history, which reflect obvious historical doctrine attitude day by day.At the same time,Guo SongTao unavoidably have conception of history of the ethics doctrine,and still regard three generations as its conception of history's coordinate.Guo SongDao inherited the forefathers' abundant historiography achievement on the historiography theory,and carry on original exposition about historiography properties, accomplishment of historian, and historiography method. Guo SongTao introduced Chinese and Western compare law of studying in historiography method in ord to prove the cultural view in terms of historical evolution; As a traditional scholar, Guo SongDao has achievement praised highly for people in historical works with characteristic of China's historiography,which mainly concentrated on the study of origin of historical personage and incident, the analysis on reason background of historical time, the investigation of past dynasties system changes and influence, and the argumentation of the general trend of events of historical development; Guo SongDao paid close attention to《Historical Records》and《Records of Hunan army》in his work , and his analysis is outstanding.
