Kou Zhun was the most distinguished statesman during Tai Zong Administration and Zhen Zong Administration of Song Dynasty. When facing the enemy from Qi Dan, Kou Zhun did his best to make Song win the battle in Chan Yuan campaign. This success of his has been a legend in both official and unofficial history. Kou Zhun experienced quiet rough an official career. His complicated attitude towards life, abundant and apparently inconsistent character all showed the trait of his times. Kou Zhun was also a poet, whose poem and ci works are as many as two hundred and ninety-one (mainly poems). Obviously, his achievement on poem art was not so good as Wang Yucheng the contemporary poet, even much inferior to the subsequent poets like Su Shi and Huang Tingjian etc. however, the status of Kou Zhun's poem art in Chinese literary history should be admitted.
