Chongxuan thinking way can be tracted back to the philosophical propositions by Laozi and Zhuangzi before Qin Dynasty. Just as Laozi holds that one must get rid of obstinacy in order to pursue Tao, Zhuangzi regards that Tao is no Not-being. They both embody a kind of negative thinking. Wangbi inherited this method and interpreted Xuan as Not-being. He thought that the abstruse character of Tao can be understood only if one treated it from the perspective of double Xuan. Guoxing clearly put forward a concept called Double Negative, with actually is the core of the thinking of Chongxuan. Later, Sundeng, Luoshi and Sunzhao employed Chongxuan to interpret Lao Zi or Zhuang Zi. Tao regards nature as the ultimate essence but nature doesn't exist as substance. Then, Tao seems to have no basis for its being as it bases on Nature. However Cheng Xuanying doesn't want to deny the substantial nature of Tao. He put it in the inner heart of people .In so doing, cultivating doctrine can help...
