Between Sui and Tang Dynasties,The ideological trend of"Re-Metaphysics"had rapidly developed,one of whom is Cheng Xuanying as the leader, he gave the new interpretation on"Self-cultivation"of laozi,which renersed the direction of the"tao-primitive"in Pre-Qin Period and the"tao-Ontology"in Wei and Jin Dynasties ,Cheng Xuanying set up a unique theory on"Self-cultivation"as a key point from"Ontology"to"Mind"of Chinese philosophy.Cheng Xuanying's"Self-cultivation"basied on Laozi's ideology divorced the doctrine of"Immortality longevity"of traditional Taoism,He believed that "return to the true"is fundament of Taoism,if people can forget the desire ,they can enter in the best realm which combination of"body"and"no-body".Cheng's"Self-cultivation"make thepreparation for the transformation on philosophy , Not only to implict the Taosim,but also to the Confucianism, Unfortunately, the ingenious thinking of his theory did not well spreaded because of the highly speculative.Paper is divided into three chapters,its structure is as follows:Introduction:Including the background, meaning and purpose of the study, research current situation, methods and content and research.Chapter I:The theory of speculative theory. This chapter focuses on re-Yuen Cheng Xuanying thinking and ideas of the theoretical background for the focus and characteristics.Chapter II:Introduct the details of"Self-cultivation"mainly basiced on the Laozi's ideology,It is divided into four parts:the summary on Laozi's"Self-cultivation"; the characteristics,nature,realm and the means of Cheng's"Self-cultivation".Chapter III : Foucs on the imact of metaphysics, emphasis on late Tang"Quan-Zhen Religion"thinking and the impact of Confucian, and then analyzed the cardiac Cheng Xuanying ideological reasons for the decline.
