Synthesis Of Spanish National Culture

My academic dissertation is about piano suite IBERIA (subtitle is The Twelve New Impressions) that is composed with 4 volumes and 12 songs and written by Spanish composer. Albeniz in his old age in 19th century.According to the name of music and national document used, Albeniz drew some representative elements from Spanish national culture into the creation of the music so as to strengthen the nationality of the music. By deeply understanding relative background of Spanish culture .cultural characteristic affected by Spanish history and geography and national music factors (such as flamenco arts) by naming music and it is more helpful for grasping the spirit of this work, and then by this work it is known about more Spanish culture. After learning the background of national culture, the work compositional technique become the second researching topic of the dissertation. The appropriate technique, namely composing method, is the way to express the composer's intention very well, which is another key factor to make IBERIA to become a excellent work. As Albeniz's old age compositional style affected by some French composers, such as Faure & Dukas etc. He combined European compositional technique (complicated texture and harmony) with the element of Spanish music (the style and rhythm of dance) very well to make IBERIA get on the international stage and accepted widely by people.The researching method of the dissertation is based on plenty of background of Spanish national culture. Because the Chinese document are relatively little . the dissertation is arranged briefly about Spanish history, geography and the flamenco arts. Otherwise, in the second part, as the point of piano player's view, the dissertation will be analyzed by the order of works in details.
