By the introduction of the relative researches about the meaning, kind, influencing factors of emotion regulation and its relationship with mental health, adapting self-made Questionnaire of emotion regulation ability of university students and Questionnaire of emotion regulation strategies of university students, selecting the relative parts of EPQ and SCL-90, the paper studied and analyzed the features of Fuzhou undergraduate emotion regulation ability and strategies. The study is mainly about the features of demography (university,sex,grade),family(single-parent family, only child, hometown)and education(subject, major), the relationship of emotion regulation ability with emotion regulation strategies, the influence of personality factors to emotion regulation ability and strategies, and the relationship of emotion regulation ability and strategies with mental health.By the questionnaire and the analysis of descriptive statistics, T test, One-Way ANOVA, Univariate, Multivariate, correlation, regression and structural equation model testing , the results are the following: on the emotion regulation ability, the town students are significantly lower than the county students, and the science and engineering students are significantly higher than the literature and history and art students; on the use of positive emotion regulation strategies, the non-only children are significantly more than the only children, the art students are significantly fewer than the literature and history and science and engineering students; on the use of negative emotion regulation strategies, the fourth grade students are significantly more than the first and second grade students, the town students are significantly more than the city students, and students from the different majors are significantly different.Positive and negative emotion regulation strategies are correlated significantly with emotion regulation ability and have significant predicative effect on emotion regulation ability. The personality traits of Neuroticism and Extraversion-Introvision are correlated significantly with the emotion regulation ability and positive and .negative emotion regulation strategies and they have significant predicative effect on the emotion regulation ability and positive and negative emotion regulation strategies; the four types of...
