Wang Zhaojun, a woman with astonishing beauty, was one of the most famous women in ancient China for her marriage with the rulers of Hun in the name of "Hefan", and she was also a time-honored theme in ancient Chinese literature. Especially, the story about Wang Zhaojun has a far-reaching effect on ancient Chinese poetry. Wang Zhaojun is firstly a historical figure and her story of "ChuSai"- the exotic marriage to the Hun minority for the peace of her nation, is embellished by 'Shi Ji' 'HouHanShu', 'QinCao', 'Xi Jin Za Ji' and ShiChong's 'Wang MingJun CiXu' In a word, Wang Zhaojun's story of 'ChuCai' experienced a long history of emendation and perfection, and eventually settled down during Six-Dynasty Period. The story of Zhaojun could be traced back to the poetry of Han Dynasty and were modified in later generations.This dissertation is consisted of two chapters: the first chapter traces the process of formation of Zhaojun's story, the settlement of its theme and the reason why the poets of all generations were fond of this theme'; the second chapter analyzes different versions of Zhaojun's story against different social circumstances and backgrounds from Han to Qing Dynasty. Although 'QingZhong Zhi' by Hu Fengzhi is the major referential book of this paper, the author has found out some limitations and lacks during composing, and supplemented it in another chapter.
