Soon after the out-breaking of the Sino-Japanese War (1937-1945), China's eastern provinces got lost one by one. The central government of China transferred to Chongqing of Sichuan province, which had become the main base of the war. The central government established many institutions to manage the road-administration of Sichuan directly. The road-administration of Sichuan are important and special. But there are little results of research about that. This paper is based on the present research, and include the building of road, the institutions of road, the management of road, the management of transportation, etc.This paper consists of six parts: introduction section, the introduction of the road of Sichuan province, the institutions of road, the management of road, the management of transportation and the epilogue.Introduction section deals with the signification of road-administration and the present situation of research about the road-administration of Sichuan.Chapter one deals with the main roads in Sichuan province before and during the Sino-Japanese war(0937-1945).In "defense era", the road and administration of road of Sichuan province had developed in some degree.
