A Study On Formation Of The National Vocal Music's New Tradition

In China,the national vocal music has developed for a long period of time.It has presented us with a varied and rich form, a characteristic style and a colored technique of expression. The traditional vocal music derived from labor of ancient people. It incorporated in itself the trinity of singing, dancing and music. Later, it developed into the forms of traditional opera, quyi and folk song, etc. The thesis mainly lays its emphasis on three different periods of national vocal music and expounds its new tradition. The first period devoted from the beginning of the last century, it is a period of combing the arts of western and Chinese vocal music. The second period is the development of the revolutionary songs in 1930s and 1940s. It is a period of heated debate between western and Chinese arts in 1950s and 1960s. The beginning of the 1980s witnessed a thriving period of pop song. This is the third period. The new tradition of national vocal music has accumulated experiences of almost 100 years, absorbing some favorable factors of western vocal music and some individual ingredients in pop music. Therefore, the traditional vocal music mothered the new tradition; it has developed what is useful and discarded what is not. It has been accumulating experiences and developing itself fully. To our excitement, the new tradition development of the national vocal music in a new historical period.
