On Qi Biaojia And His Opera Theory

Qi Biaojia is a dramatist and a righteous man in the late Ming Dynasty. As a person contributed his life to his country, a member of YueZhong opera collective and Family Qi in ShanYin, he has heavy social status.On the basis of the research results before today, I attempt to study and analyze all Qi Biaojia's life, his communication with his friends and his creation. I show his communication condition from three sides. Fist is the relationship between Qi Biaojia and the JiangNan culture mass organization. Second is the relationship between Qi Biaojia and the dramastists of YueZhong. Third is the relationship between Qi Biaojia and the dramastists of WuZhong. And I introduce Qi Biaojia's works in detail, not only discuss and record important dramatic theory works such as Yuan Shan Tang Qu Pin, Yuan Shan Tang Ju Pin and dairy, letters, preface of dramatic theory, but also narrate respectively his legend, prose, verse and so on.The paper probe into cultural background of Qi Biaojia's dramatic theory forming from three angles which is prevailing of XinXue ideological thoughts, cultural environment of YueZhong drama, cultural atmosphere of family Qi's drama. I clearly summarizing the theory for Qi Biaojia's dramatic theory, his dramatic theory sum up: advocating the theory dramatic function which can be of value to people's moving and transmit feelings; paying attention to the theory dramatic subject matter which has noble quality; encouraging the theory of dramatic structure which has reasonable structure; choosing the theory of dramatic language which has vivid words and phrases; upholding the theory of dramatic performance which be suited to perform in the stage. At last, summarizing that Qi Biaojia can objectively evaluate dramatic works, and he is good at judging works' characteristics of dramatic theory by using comparative method.In the end I draw the conclusion that Qi Biaojia can go deep into research traditional dramatic theory idea, though his theory has not become theory systerm yet. He study opera base on the story, catch the essential character of theory which is narrative literature. All in all Qi Biaojia's opera theory has extremely important research value in Chinese ancient dramatic theory history. And the theory contribution of Qi Biaojia has impotant status on correcting mistake of opera in that time, obeying opera character and pushing the development of the theory idea.
