In Ming and Qing dynansties, Yangzhou region in the "canal, river and salt" three advantage motivated, economic development has rapidly developed. In Kangxi and Qianlong period,Yangzhou was most prosperous, became megacities of Huaihe region south. Yangzhou became widely known, most of the people hope to go. Poetry, notes and the fall of Yangzhou study of the rich is strongly praised. However, I believe that the prosperity of Yangzhou depended on salt industry. It was her pillar industry. But , the salt industry was resource-based industry, for the control of the government and monopoly of businessmen, citizen could not involved. So Salt industry profits was alone occupied by salt merchants. Meanwhile, the salt industry trade features naturally caused the economic gap between salt sales areas and non-salty areas. Therefore, the rich of Yangzhou was limited. It should only belongs to the salt zone and and salt merchants. In the study rarely mentioned predecessors Economic conditions of life of ordinary citizen is an important criterion for measuring the economic area, but also an important basis for analyzing economic vicissitude, academic research has increasingly attention to the lower.Better understanding of the economic situation of Yangzhou in Ming and Qing dynasties, explaining his "short" downtown, they must be tentacles extending toward the lower.
